Install ASDK with Google Tag Manager
Load the ASDK widget through Google Tag Manager with a Custom HTML tag on all pages. The ASDK tag template for the Community Template Gallery is coming soon.

On this page
If your site already loads Google Tag Manager, you can add ASDK there without changing your site's code.
Add a Custom HTML tag
Create the tag
In Tag Manager, open your container and go to Tags → New. Click Tag Configuration and choose Custom HTML.
Paste the code
Copy the Google Tag Manager code from the dashboard's Install page (choose the Google Tag Manager tab) and paste it into the HTML field. It looks like this, with your own site ID:
<script>
window.asdkConfig = { siteId: "SITE_ID" };
</script>
<script async src="https://cdn.asdk.com/v1/asdk.js"></script>Tag managers insert scripts in a way that can drop data- attributes, so this version passes the site ID in window.asdkConfig, which the widget reads. You don't need Support document.write.
Fire it on every page
Under Triggering, choose All Pages (or Initialization - All Pages to load the widget a little earlier). Name the tag "ASDK" and save it.
Test and publish
Click Preview, enter your site's address and check that the ASDK tag fires and the chat button appears. Then click Submit and Publish. Visitors get the widget only after you publish.
Google's help page on custom tags describes the Custom HTML tag type (checked October 2026).
Check the installation
The snippet is not in your page's HTML when Tag Manager adds it, so the dashboard's check recognizes your Tag Manager container and waits for the widget to report from your site. After publishing, open your site once in a browser, then click Check installation on the Install page.
With the ASDK template file
If you have the ASDK template file (template.tpl), import it in Tag Manager under Templates → Tag Templates → New, open the ⋮ menu and choose Import. Save the template, then create a tag of the type "ASDK AI Agents Widget", paste your site ID, add the All Pages trigger and publish.
Consent mode
If you use Tag Manager's consent settings, set the consent the widget needs under the tag's Advanced Settings → Consent Settings. The widget stores a random visitor ID in local storage and sets no cookies. See consent managers.
