Sign in with a magic link or Google
How signing in to ASDK works: email sign-in links instead of passwords, Continue with Google, how long you stay signed in, and what to do if a link fails.
Last updated
On this page
ASDK has no passwords. You sign in with a link sent to your email, or with your Google account. There is nothing to remember or reset, and nobody can guess their way into your account.
Sign in with an email link
Enter your email
Open the dashboard at app.asdk.com. On Sign in to ASDK, enter your Work email and choose Email me a sign-in link.
Open the email
The page changes to Check your email. Open the message from ASDK, subject "Your ASDK sign-in link", and click the link. Each link works once and expires after 15 minutes.
You're in
The link opens a page that says Signing you in… and then the dashboard. The browser you opened the link in is the one that gets signed in, so open it where you want to work: if you click it on your phone, your phone is signed in.
There's no separate sign-up. If no account exists for your email yet, the same link creates one, together with your first workspace.
Didn't get the email?
On the Check your email page:
- Send a new link sends another one. To protect against abuse, you can send a new link only after a short wait; the button counts down "Send again in …s".
- Use a different email takes you back if you mistyped the address.
Check your spam or promotions folder too. ASDK's emails come from login@mail.asdk.com. Emails not arriving lists more causes, such as company mail filters.
"This sign-in link doesn't work anymore"
The link was already used or is older than 15 minutes. Go back to the sign-in page and send yourself a new one. Use the newest email if you requested several.
Some company email systems open links in incoming emails to check them for threats before you do. If your links stop working this way every time, ask your IT team to allow emails from mail.asdk.com, or use Google sign-in.
Continue with Google
If the sign-in page shows Continue with Google, you can sign in with a Google account instead of an email link. Choose it, pick your account and confirm on Google's page.
- ASDK receives your name, email address and profile picture from Google. It uses a Google sign-in only when Google has verified the email address.
- Same email, same account. If you already use ASDK with that address through email links, Google signs you in to the same account, with the same workspaces.
- You can switch between the two methods at any time.
Stay signed in and sign out
You stay signed in on a browser while you use the dashboard. If you haven't used it for 30 days, you'll be asked to sign in again.
To sign out, use the Sign out button, the arrow icon next to your name at the bottom of the dashboard's menu. Signing out ends the session on that browser only. On a shared or public computer, always sign out when you're done.
Invitations
An invitation to a workspace is sent to one email address and works only for it. Sign in with that address, by link or with Google, to accept it. See Members and roles.
Change the email of your account
Your email address is how ASDK knows you, and it can't be changed in the dashboard yet. If you need to move to a new address, the simplest way is to have a workspace owner invite the new address, then remove the old one. If you're the only owner, write to hello@asdk.com from the old address.
Keep your account safe
- Protect your email account, since it is the key to your ASDK account: use a strong password and two-step verification there.
- Don't forward sign-in emails. Anyone who opens the link within 15 minutes is signed in as you.
- Sign out on shared computers.
