Getting started
How long does setup take?
About ten minutes for most sites: sign in, add your website, try the agent, paste one script tag and check it. Reading a large site takes longer, but agents answer from the first pages right away. See the quickstart.
Do I need a developer to install ASDK?
Not if you can add custom code in your site builder or tag manager: the install guides cover nine platforms step by step. If someone else manages your site, use Email these instructions to my developer on the Install page.
Which agents should I start with?
Chat, which answers visitors and captures contacts, and Agent-Ready, which helps AI assistants read your site. Both are on from the start and included from the Free plan. Add Sales when your visitors should end up in a call. See Choosing agents.
Is there a free plan or a trial?
Both. The Free plan has no time limit. The 14-day trial gives one site the Business plan's agents with no card needed; during early access, it opens at launch. See The trial and the Free plan.
Knowledge
Where do my agents get their answers?
Only from your knowledge: the pages ASDK read from your website, plus files, text snippets and Q&A pairs you add. When nothing in it answers a question, the agent says it doesn't know instead of guessing. See How ASDK works.
How often does ASDK read my site again?
Every day, or every week on the Free plan, and only changed pages are processed again. Choose Read again on a source to pick up a change right away. See How syncing works.
Can agents answer from documents that aren't on my website?
Yes. Upload PDF, Word, text, Markdown, CSV or HTML files of up to 20 MB, or write facts as text snippets. See Upload files and Text snippets.
How do I make sure a common question always gets the same answer?
Add a Q&A pair: the question in your visitors' words and the exact answer. Agents prefer it over your pages and use it within seconds. See Q&A pairs.
How do I keep some pages out of my agents' answers?
Exclude single pages from a source's Pages list, or skip whole sections with patterns such as /blog or /**/print. See Exclude pages.
Widget
Can I change how the widget looks and what it says?
Yes, on the Agents page: accent color, position, light or dark theme, launcher label, title, greeting, placeholder and up to four suggested questions. Changes reach your site on the next page view. See Widget appearance and Widget texts and greeting.
Does the widget work in other languages?
Agents answer in the language each visitor writes in. The widget's interface comes in eight languages. See Languages.
Does the widget slow down my site or set cookies?
It loads asynchronously, so it doesn't hold up your page, and it loads the chat panel only when a visitor opens it. It sets no cookies; it keeps a random visitor ID in the browser's local storage. See Data we store.
My site has a Content Security Policy. What do I add?
https://cdn.asdk.com to script-src and https://api.asdk.com to connect-src. See Content Security Policy.
Answers and the Inbox
What happens when the agent doesn't know the answer?
It says so, and depending on your lead capture setting, offers the visitor a short form to leave their contact details for your team. The question is recorded as a knowledge gap you can answer later. See Lead capture.
The agent gave a wrong answer. How do I fix it?
Look at the sources under the answer: they show where it came from. Update or exclude the page, or add a Q&A pair, then test again. See Fix wrong answers.
Where do I see conversations and leads?
Conversations are on the dashboard's Inbox page and leads on the Leads page. See Conversations and Leads and CSV export.
How do I hear about new leads quickly?
Owners and admins get an email when a lead arrives, and you can post leads to a Slack channel under Leads → Notifications. Your own code can also react to the widget's lead event. See Notifications.
Plans and limits
What counts as an answer?
One reply an agent writes to a visitor's message. Five questions use five answers. The greeting, suggested question buttons and contact forms don't count. See What counts as an answer.
What happens when I reach my monthly answers?
We let workspace owners know, and agents keep answering up to 110% of your plan's answers. After that they pause until the next month or until you raise the limit. See What happens at a limit.
What happens when my knowledge reaches the page limit?
Pages already in your knowledge stay and are kept up to date; new pages are skipped until there's room. See Page limits.
How do I upgrade during early access?
Billing is coming soon. Until then, write to hello@asdk.com with your Workspace ID and the plan you need, and we'll change it. See Plans and limits.
Team and privacy
How do I add my team?
Owners and admins invite people on Settings → Members, as Member or Admin. Invitations are valid for 7 days. See Members and roles.
Is my content used to train AI models?
No. ASDK doesn't train models on your content or your visitors' conversations, and its AI providers process data under terms that don't allow it. See No training on your data.
Do visitors know they're talking to an AI?
Yes. The widget always shows an AI disclosure under its title, as the EU AI Act requires. You can reword it but not remove it. See AI disclosure to visitors.
How do I delete my data?
Delete sources, Q&A pairs or whole sites yourself in the dashboard. Owners delete a whole workspace, and you delete your account, under Settings → Data. See Delete your data and Data retention.
