Getting started
Quickstart: a live agent in 10 minutes
From sign-up to an AI agent answering on your own website in about ten minutes: sign in, add your site, try the agent, install one script and check it.

This guide takes you from no account to an agent answering visitors on your website. Most sites get there in about ten minutes. The longest part is usually publishing a change to your site, so if someone else manages it, start step 5 early and send them the instructions.
Before you start
- Your website's address, for example
acme.com. ASDK reads its public pages, so the site needs to be online. - A way to add one script to every page: access to your site builder's custom code setting, your theme or template, or Google Tag Manager. If you don't have it, you can email the instructions to whoever does.
- A work email address you can open now. ASDK signs you in with a link instead of a password.
Set up your agent
Sign in
Open the ASDK dashboard at app.asdk.com, enter your Work email and choose Email me a sign-in link. Open the link in the email within 15 minutes. There is no separate sign-up: the same link creates your account and your first workspace. If the sign-in page shows Continue with Google, you can use that instead. Signing in has the details.
Add your website
The setup opens by itself the first time, under Get started. In the first step, Your website, enter your Website address and continue. ASDK creates the site and starts reading its pages right away.
Watch ASDK read your site
The Reading your site step shows pages as they are read. You can add a Sitemap address here, so ASDK reads exactly the pages your sitemap lists, and upload files such as price lists, product sheets and FAQs (PDF, Word, text, Markdown, CSV or HTML, up to 20 MB each). As soon as the first pages are in, choose Continue while we keep reading: the rest keeps going in the background.
Try the agent
In Try it, the real widget answers from what ASDK has read so far. Ask it what your visitors ask, or click one of the suggested questions made from your page titles. Each answer lists the pages it came from. If an answer is missing or wrong, note it: Fix wrong answers shows how to correct it later.
Install the snippet
In Install, pick your platform and copy the snippet. It already contains your Site ID:
<script async src="https://cdn.asdk.com/v1/asdk.js" data-site-id="SITE_ID"></script>Paste it once on every page, usually just before the closing body tag or in your builder's custom code setting for all pages, then publish. Someone else runs your site? Use Email these instructions to my developer. The install guides cover each platform.
Check the installation
Open your site in a normal browser window, then click Check installation. ASDK looks for the snippet on your home page, and the widget also reports itself when it loads, which counts too. When the check passes, continue to Done.
The last step is a short checklist: Install verified, First conversation and Invite a teammate. When the install is verified, the heading reads Your agent is live. You can leave the setup at any time with Skip setup for now and come back to the same steps from the dashboard's Sites, Install and Agents pages.
What your agent does from the start
A new site starts with sensible defaults, so the agent is useful before you change anything:
- Chat and Agent-Ready are switched on. Chat answers visitors in the widget. Agent-Ready works without a button and helps AI assistants read your site. Both are in early access and included from the Free plan.
- Answers come only from your knowledge. The agent answers from the pages and files ASDK read and shows the pages it used. When nothing in your knowledge answers a question, it says so instead of guessing.
- Visitors can leave their details. When the agent can't answer, it offers a short contact form, so a question that your site doesn't cover still reaches you.
- Visitors know it is an AI. The panel always shows an AI disclosure line under the title. See AI disclosure to visitors.
Next steps
Once the agent is live, these are the changes most sites make in their first week:
- Match your brand. Set the accent color, position and launcher label on the Agents page. See Widget appearance.
- Write the greeting and suggested questions. Tell visitors what they can ask. See Texts and greeting and Suggested questions.
- Add exact answers. Prices, delivery times and policies that visitors ask about often deserve a Q&A pair.
- Decide when to ask for contact details. See Lead capture.
- Bring in your team. Invite the people who answer customers. See Members and roles.
If something doesn't work
- The chat button doesn't appear on your site: Widget not showing.
- Check installation reports a problem: Install check fails.
- ASDK stopped reading your site or found few pages: Crawl stuck or blocked.
- The sign-in email didn't arrive: Emails not arriving.
Still stuck? Write to hello@asdk.com with your Workspace ID, which you'll find under Settings → Workspace.
