This Acceptable use policy (the "AUP") is part of the ASDK Terms of service. It applies to every ASDK customer, to the people in their accounts, and to anyone using ASDK on a customer's behalf, including an agency's clients. "You" means the customer. Words like "Agents", "Visitors" and "Output" have the meanings given in the Terms.

ASDK agents speak to the public on your behalf. This policy exists so that they stay honest, safe and lawful, and so that the service keeps working for every customer. If you are not sure whether a use is allowed, ask us at [TBD: legal contact email] before you launch it.

In short

  • Tell people they are talking to an AI, and never make an Agent pretend to be a person.
  • Don't use Agents to deceive, impersonate, or make decisions that seriously affect people's lives.
  • Connect only websites you control, and upload only content you have the right to use.
  • Use the leads you collect the way the visitor expected, and follow anti-spam laws.
  • Don't try to get into other customers' data, attack the service or get around its limits.

1. Follow the law

Don't use ASDK to create, store, publish or send anything that is illegal, or to help anyone else do something illegal. In particular, don't use it for content or activity that:

  • infringes someone else's intellectual property, privacy or publicity rights;
  • is defamatory, harassing, threatening or hateful, or promotes violence or terrorism;
  • sexually exploits or endangers children. We report such material to the competent authorities;
  • is sexually explicit;
  • contains or spreads malware, or is used for phishing or fraud; or
  • breaks consumer protection, advertising, financial services, privacy or other laws that apply to your business.

2. Be honest with visitors

2.1 Keep the AI disclosure. The ASDK widget tells Visitors that they are interacting with an AI system. Don't remove, hide, cover or weaken that disclosure, including on plans that let you replace ASDK branding with your own. Don't instruct an Agent to say it is human, or to deny being an AI when someone asks.

2.2 Meet the disclosure rules that apply to you. Some laws require businesses to tell people when they are dealing with an AI system or a bot. Two examples:

  • EU Artificial Intelligence Act, Article 50. AI systems that interact directly with people must be designed so that people are informed they are interacting with an AI system, unless that is obvious from the context, and the information must be given in a clear and distinguishable manner at the latest at the first interaction. Deployers of AI systems that generate or manipulate deepfake images, audio or video, or that generate or manipulate text published to inform the public on matters of public interest, must disclose that the content is artificially generated or manipulated, with some exceptions. Article 50 has applied since August 2, 2026. The Digital Omnibus on AI (Regulation (EU) 2026/1744) did not change that date for systems placed on the market from then on.
  • California's bot disclosure law (Business and Professions Code § 17941) makes it unlawful to use a bot to communicate with a person in California online with the intent to mislead them about its artificial identity in order to incentivize a sale or influence a vote, unless the bot's nature is disclosed in a way that is clear, conspicuous and reasonably designed to inform the person.

ASDK designs its Agents so that they disclose that they are AI. You are responsible for meeting any additional duties that apply to you as the business using the Agent, for example if you publish Output elsewhere.

2.3 Don't impersonate. Don't configure an Agent to impersonate a real person, such as a named employee, a celebrity or a public figure, or to pose as a brand, business or organization you are not authorized to represent. You can give an Agent a name and a tone of voice, as long as the AI disclosure stays visible and the Agent doesn't claim to be a real person.

2.4 Don't deceive. Don't use Agents for deceptive or manipulative practices, such as fake reviews or testimonials, false urgency or scarcity, misleading statements about prices, terms or what your product can do, or collecting information under false pretenses. Don't instruct Agents to make claims you couldn't back up if they appeared elsewhere on your website.

3. No high-risk uses

3.1 Professional advice and emergencies. Don't present an Agent as a substitute for a qualified professional. An Agent may share general information from your own content, such as your opening hours or the services you offer, but don't use it as the sole basis for medical, mental health, legal, financial, tax or investment advice, and don't use it where a delay or a wrong answer could put someone's life or safety at risk. Where it matters, the Agent should point people to a qualified person.

3.2 Decisions about people. Don't use ASDK to make, or to materially support, decisions about people's employment (such as recruitment, screening, evaluation, promotion or dismissal), creditworthiness, insurance, housing, education (such as admission or grading), access to essential public or private services, or legal or immigration status. The EU Artificial Intelligence Act treats many of these uses as high-risk (Annex III), and other laws regulate them too. ASDK is not built or assessed for them.

3.3 Prohibited AI practices. Don't use ASDK for any practice prohibited by Article 5 of the EU Artificial Intelligence Act, which has applied since February 2, 2025. These include using manipulative or deceptive techniques that materially distort people's behavior and cause or are likely to cause significant harm; exploiting people's vulnerabilities due to their age, disability or social or economic situation; social scoring; inferring emotions in the workplace or in education; and biometric categorization to deduce sensitive characteristics.

3.4 Children. Don't use ASDK on websites or services directed at children, or to target children. In the United States this includes services directed at children under 13, which are subject to the Children's Online Privacy Protection Rule.

3.5 Sensitive data. Don't configure Agents to ask for special categories of personal data (such as health information, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs or sexual orientation), government identification numbers, payment card numbers or passwords, unless the law allows it and we have agreed in writing.

3.6 Elections. Don't use ASDK for political campaigning or to influence how people vote.

4. No spam or unwanted contact

  • Use the contact details that Visitors give your Agents for the purpose the Visitor expected, such as replying to their question or confirming a meeting, unless you have another lawful basis to use them.
  • Follow the laws on marketing messages that apply to you, such as the US CAN-SPAM Act, the EU ePrivacy rules and the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations.
  • Don't use ASDK, its integrations or its webhooks to send bulk unsolicited messages.

5. Only your own websites and content

  • Connect only websites you own or control, or websites whose owner has authorized you to connect them (for example, an agency acting for its client).
  • Don't use ASDK to crawl, scrape or copy websites you don't control, including competitors' sites, and don't use it to access content behind logins, paywalls or other access restrictions you are not authorized to pass.
  • Upload only files you have the right to use, and don't upload other people's confidential information without authorization.
  • Don't use ASDK to collect information about people from websites you don't control.

6. Respect the service and other customers

  • Don't try to access another customer's account, knowledge base, Conversations or data, or to break the separation between customers.
  • Don't probe, scan or test the security of the service, except as allowed in Section 8.
  • Don't use crafted inputs to make Agents reveal hidden instructions or other customers' data, or to get around their safeguards.
  • Don't overload the service: no denial-of-service attacks, excessive automated traffic or load testing without our written permission.
  • Don't get around your plan's limits, for example by creating several free accounts or trials, sharing seats, hiding the "Powered by ASDK" badge on plans that show it, or interfering with usage metering.
  • Don't resell the service or white-label it unless your plan allows it, and don't reverse engineer it, except where the law allows this.
  • Don't use the service or its Output to develop AI models that compete with ASDK or with our AI model providers.

7. AI model providers' rules

ASDK runs its Agents on models from third-party providers, which have their own usage policies, such as OpenAI's usage policies, Anthropic's Usage Policy and Google's Generative AI Prohibited Use Policy. Uses that break those policies are also not allowed under this AUP. Requests that break them may be refused, and repeated violations can lead to suspension.

8. Security research

We welcome reports from people who find security problems in good faith. Send them to security@asdk.com, as described on our Security page. When you research: access only the minimum data needed to show the problem, don't access, change or delete other people's data, don't disrupt the service, and give us reasonable time to fix the problem before you disclose it.

9. Reporting misuse

Anyone, including Visitors, can report an ASDK Agent that behaves badly or a customer who breaks this policy. Email [TBD: legal contact email] with the website address, what happened and when. Report security issues to security@asdk.com.

10. What we do about violations

We may investigate suspected violations. If we find one, we may remove or disable content, pause an Agent or a site, or suspend or close the account, as described in the Terms. We usually tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem, unless the violation is serious or urgent, or the law or the risk of harm makes notice inappropriate. We may report illegal activity to the competent authorities.

We don't monitor customers' content as a routine. ASDK staff look at Customer Content or Conversations only to provide support you ask for, to investigate security or abuse, or when the law requires it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will tell you about material changes as described in the Terms.
