The full comparison
On this page
Chatbase and ASDK both put an AI agent on your website that answers from your own content. They are built around different goals. Chatbase is a customer-support agent platform that reaches beyond the website into messaging apps, email and phone. ASDK is focused on the website itself: one script, one knowledge base, and several agents for support, sales and AI-agent readiness.
Who each product is for
Chatbase suits support teams that want one AI agentAn AI agent is software that uses a language model to reach a goal by choosing its own next steps, calling tools and reacting to the results. answering customers across several channels. Its home page describes agents for support, sales and product guidance, deployed to the website, WhatsApp, email, Slack and Meta apps, plus voice calls (Chatbase). Higher plans add a helpdesk inbox where AI and human agents share conversations, advanced analytics, and integrations with helpdesks and CRMs such as Zendesk, Intercom, Freshdesk, Salesforce and HubSpot (Chatbase pricing). You can also choose which AI model powers the agent.
ASDK suits B2B companies whose website is the main place buyers arrive. Instead of one general agent, you switch on agents for specific jobs: Chat answers visitors from your pages and captures contacts, Sales qualifies visitors and books meetings, and Agent-Ready makes the site easier for AI assistants and agents to read. Prices are published and the plans are self-serve, starting with a free plan.

Pricing
Chatbase
As shown on the Chatbase pricing page on October 20, 2026, with the yearly toggle selected ("20% off"):
| Plan | Billed yearly | Without yearly discount | Message credits per month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hobby | $32/month | $40/month | 700 |
| Standard | $120/month | $150/month | 4,000 |
| Pro | $400/month | $500/month | 15,000 |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Custom |
Add-ons: auto-recharge credits at $40 per 1,000 message credits, extra agents at $300 per agent per year, removing "Powered By Chatbase" at $1,188 per year, and extra storage at $300 per 10 MB per year.
Credits are not the same as replies. Chatbase's FAQ explains that each AI response consumes credits based on the model: many models use 1 credit, while the most expensive ones listed use 4 or 5. If actions are enabled, one reply may take several model requests. Credits renew on the 1st of each month, and when they run out the agent shows an "unavailable" message until they are topped up (Chatbase FAQ).
ASDK
| Plan | Billed monthly | Billed annually | Answers per month | Sites |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 50 | 1 |
| Starter | $39/month | $31/month | 1,000 | 1 |
| Pro | $129/month | $103/month | 5,000 | 3 |
| Business | $349/month | $279/month | 20,000 | 10 |
| Agency | from $499/month | from $399/month | 50,000 | 25 |
Extra answers cost $10 per 1,000. The 14-day trial includes the Business plan's agents with 500 answers and needs no card; afterwards the account moves to the Free plan unless you choose a paid one. See pricing for what each plan includes.
At the entry level the two are close: Chatbase Hobby is $32 per month billed yearly for 700 credits, and ASDK Starter is $31 per month billed annually for 1,000 answers. Above that, the products diverge in what you are paying for. Chatbase's higher tiers add channels, voice and helpdesk features; ASDK's add sites, the Sales agent and integrations.
Setup and upkeep
Chatbase: its home page describes a four-step cycle: build the agent by connecting data sources, defining its role and setting guardrails without code; test it on real customer scenarios; deploy it to chat, WhatsApp, email, Slack and other channels; then track resolution rates, review escalations and refine instructions (Chatbase). Automatic re-syncing of an agent's sources is listed from the Standard plan, so on Hobby you update the agent yourself when your content changes.
ASDK: you add one script to your site, ASDK indexes your pages up to your plan's page limit, and you switch agents on in the dashboard. Answers link to the pages they came from, so a wrong answer points straight at the page to fix. From Pro, the "What visitors ask" insights report groups the questions visitors ask, which shows where your content has gaps.
Choose Chatbase if…
- You need one agent on WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, Slack, email or the phone, not just your website.
- You want a helpdesk inbox where AI and human agents share conversations.
- You want to pick the AI model, or test several, in a playground.
- You need integrations with a helpdesk such as Zendesk, Freshdesk or Intercom.
- You need enterprise options listed by Chatbase, such as SSO, audit logs, custom roles or HIPAA eligibility.
- You want a product that is generally available today.
Choose ASDK if…
- Your website is where buyers arrive, and you want support answers and sales qualification from one knowledge base. ASDK's Sales agent is in early access.
- You want answers that cite the page they came from on every plan, including Free, so visitors can check them. See groundingGrounding means tying an AI model's answer to specific, verifiable sources, such as your own pages or a search index, so each claim can be checked..
- You care about how ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and other agents read your site: hosted llms.txt on every plan and AI-agent visit analytics from Pro.
- You want to start on a free plan and grow by answers and sites, with badge removal included from Pro.
- You run several sites, or you book meetings through Cal.com, Calendly or Google Calendar. Native HubSpot and Pipedrive sync is coming soon.
How to decide
Run the same short test on both before committing:
- Collect 20 real questions from your inbox or chat logs, including a few awkward ones about pricing, contracts and integrations.
- Point each tool at the same pages and ask every question.
- Score each answer: correct, correct with a source link, wrong, or "I don't know". A wrong answer should count far more against a tool than an honest "I don't know".
- Check what each reply costs in credits or answers at your expected monthly volume.
Then list the channels your customers actually use. If most conversations happen in messaging apps, email or on the phone, Chatbase covers more of them today. If most buyers start on your website and you want the same knowledge to support them, qualify them and help AI agents understand your offer, ASDK is built for that, and you can try it on your own content before paying.
