The full comparison
On this page
Botpress and ASDK both put AI agents on a website, answer from your own content and offer a free plan. They start from different ideas. Botpress is a platform for building AI agents, now positioned as an AI-native customer support platform with its own helpdesk. ASDK is a set of ready-made agents for B2B websites that share one knowledge base and run from one script.
Who each product is for
Botpress suits support teams and builders who want an AI agentAn AI agent is software that uses a language model to reach a goal by choosing its own next steps, calling tools and reacting to the results. that does more than answer: its home page describes resolving complex tickets such as refunds and account changes, and calls the company "An AI agent company that built a helpdesk." It offers several ways to build: Studio, a visual agent builder; Viber, which builds agents from natural-language prompts; and a managed service in which Botpress builds the agent for you. Botpress Desk is its helpdesk, with a "hot handoff" that passes the conversation history and account details to a person. Agents run on webchat, WhatsApp, Slack and other channels, and connect to tools such as Intercom, Zendesk, HubSpot and Salesforce (Botpress).
ASDK suits B2B companies whose website is the main place buyers arrive, and who want results without a build project. You add one script and switch on agents for specific jobs: Chat answers visitors from your pages and captures contacts, Sales qualifies visitors and books meetings, and Agent-Ready makes the site easier for AI assistants to read. Prices are published and the plans are self-serve.

Pricing
Botpress
As shown on the Botpress pricing page on October 21, 2026, with annual billing selected ("Annual · Save 20%"):
| Plan | Price | Conversations per month | AI usage included | Seats | AI agents |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 100, no top-ups | Not listed separately | 3 | 3 |
| Plus | $150/month, billed annually | 250; extra packs of 100 for $65 | $25 | 3 | Unlimited |
| Team | $750/month, billed annually | 1,500; extra packs of 100 for $50 | $150 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Custom | Custom | Custom |
A few rules shape the real bill (Botpress pricing):
- What counts. A conversation needs at least two end-user messages in the billing month. A conversation that spans two months counts in both, each anonymous session counts separately, and on voice, 3 minutes equal one conversation.
- Automatic top-ups. On paid plans, a pack of 100 conversations is added automatically at 95% of your quota, and this cannot be switched off. Packs repeat monthly until you remove them, and unused conversations expire at the end of the month.
- AI usage. Each conversation includes $0.10 of model usage. Beyond the included amount, Botpress buys $10 AI credit grants automatically at 95% of your spend limit and sells them at cost.
- Storage. A storage add-on costs $40 per month on Plus and Team.
The home page also stresses "No per-seat cost", and Team includes unlimited seats.
ASDK
| Plan | Billed monthly | Billed annually | Answers per month | Sites |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 50 | 1 |
| Starter | $39/month | $31/month | 1,000 | 1 |
| Pro | $129/month | $103/month | 5,000 | 3 |
| Business | $349/month | $279/month | 20,000 | 10 |
| Agency | from $499/month | from $399/month | 50,000 | 25 |
Extra answers cost $10 per 1,000. The 14-day trial includes the Business plan's agents with 500 answers and needs no card; afterwards the account moves to the Free plan unless you choose a paid one. See pricing.
Comparing the two
The units differ: one Botpress conversation can contain many answers, so compare at your own volume. As a rough guide, Botpress Plus is $150 per month billed annually for 250 conversations, while ASDK Starter is $31 per month billed annually for 1,000 answers and ASDK Pro is $103 for 5,000. Botpress's price buys a building platform, more channels and a helpdesk; ASDK's buys finished website agents and more sites.
Setup and upkeep
Botpress: you design the agent. That means writing its instructions, adding knowledge bases and tables, connecting integrations and building any workflows that take actions, either visually in Studio or by describing them in Viber. Effort grows with what the agent should do: a question-answering bot is quick, while an agent that issues refunds needs access to your backend and testing. If you lack the time, Botpress offers to build and manage it for you.
ASDK: you add one script to your site, ASDK indexes your pages up to your plan's page limit, and you switch agents on in the dashboard. Answers link to the pages they came from, so a wrong answer points straight at the page to fix. From Pro, the "What visitors ask" insights report groups visitors' questions, which shows where your content has gaps.
Choose Botpress if…
- You want to build custom agents that act in your own systems, such as refunds or account changes.
- You need the same agent on WhatsApp, Slack or other messaging channels, not just your website.
- You want a helpdesk where AI and human agents share conversations, with handoff and routing.
- You have someone to build and maintain agents, or budget for Botpress to do it.
- You need roles and permissions across a larger team.
- You want a product that is generally available today.
Choose ASDK if…
- You want website agents working this week without designing them yourself.
- Your website is where buyers arrive, and you want support answers and sales qualification from one knowledge base. ASDK's Sales agent is in early access.
- You want answers that cite the page they came from on every plan, including Free. See groundingGrounding means tying an AI model's answer to specific, verifiable sources, such as your own pages or a search index, so each claim can be checked..
- You care how ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and other agents read your site: hosted llms.txt on every plan and AI-agent visit analytics from Pro.
- You want a low entry price and a free plan, and you may run several sites.
How to decide
Write down the three jobs you most need the agent to do. If any of them is an action inside your own systems, such as changing an order, Botpress is built for that kind of work. If the jobs are answering visitors, qualifying buyers and booking meetings, test both on the same content:
- Collect 20 real questions from your inbox or chat logs, including a few about pricing, contracts and integrations.
- Point each tool at the same pages and ask every question.
- Score each answer: correct, correct with a source link, wrong, or "I don't know". Count a wrong answer as worse than an honest "I don't know".
- Estimate the monthly cost at your volume, in conversations for Botpress and answers for ASDK.
Try the Chat agent in early access
Answers visitors from your own content, 24/7, and captures contacts.
