The full comparison
On this page
Zendesk AI agents and ASDK both answer customers with AI. They sit in different places. Zendesk's AI agents are part of a full customer service platform: they resolve requests across messaging, email and voice, and hand the rest to human agents in the same helpdesk. ASDK is a set of agents for a B2B website, answering visitors, qualifying buyers and helping AI assistants read the site, with no helpdesk attached.
Who each product is for
Zendesk AI agents suit support teams that run, or want to run, their service on Zendesk. Zendesk defines them as "autonomous systems that resolve customer service inquiries across channels like messaging, email, and voice". They draw on your help center and on "external sources like Google Drive or PDFs", connect to your tools to take actions, support "80 languages at native fluency", and when they cannot resolve an issue they "route issues to the right team at the right time — with full context" (Zendesk). Zendesk also offers quality review of AI conversations; its pricing page lists AI agent QA as requiring the QA add-on.
ASDK suits B2B companies whose website is where buyers arrive, and whose visitors ask pre-sales questions as often as support ones: pricing, fit, integrations, security. You add one script and switch on agents: Chat answers visitors from your pages and captures contacts, Sales qualifies visitors and books meetings, and Agent-Ready makes the site easier for AI assistants to read.

Pricing
Zendesk
As shown on the Zendesk pricing page on October 21, 2026, per human agent per month (Zendesk pricing):
| Plan | Billed annually | Billed monthly | Automated resolutions included |
|---|---|---|---|
| Support Team | $19 | $25 | 5 per agent a month |
| Suite Team | $55 | $69 | 5 per agent a month |
| Suite Professional | $115 | $149 | 10 per agent a month |
| Suite Enterprise | Talk to sales | Talk to sales | Not listed |
Extra automated resolutions cost $1.50 each when committed in advance and $2.00 pay as you go, on every plan. The pricing page labels the included resolutions "up to 10k per year". Messaging AI agents on Support Team require messaging, and voice AI agents require Zendesk voice.
What counts changed on May 18, 2026, when Zendesk introduced resolution tiers (Zendesk help):
- Assisted escalation: the AI helped, but a human completed the resolution. Does not count against the allowance.
- Contained resolution: the AI handled the conversation to the end, but a language-model check could not confirm it was resolved. Does not count.
- Verified resolution: the check, run after the conversation ends, confirms the AI resolved it. This is the tier you pay for.
An email conversation ends 72 hours after the first email; a messaging conversation ends 2 hours after the first message by default; a voice conversation ends at hangup.
ASDK
| Plan | Billed monthly | Billed annually | Answers per month | Sites |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 50 | 1 |
| Starter | $39/month | $31/month | 1,000 | 1 |
| Pro | $129/month | $103/month | 5,000 | 3 |
| Business | $349/month | $279/month | 20,000 | 10 |
| Agency | from $499/month | from $399/month | 50,000 | 25 |
Extra answers cost $10 per 1,000. The 14-day trial includes the Business plan's agents with 500 answers and needs no card; afterwards the account moves to the Free plan unless you choose a paid one. See pricing.
Comparing the two
These are different purchases. A team of five on Suite Professional pays $575 a month billed annually for five human agent seats, with 50 automated resolutions a month included; 150 more verified resolutions add $225 committed or $300 pay as you go. That bill buys a full helpdesk. ASDK Pro is $103 a month billed annually for 5,000 answers on up to three sites, but there is no helpdesk, and an answer is not the same as a resolved ticket.
Setup and upkeep
Zendesk: if you already use Zendesk, the AI agents work from your existing help center and policies, and Zendesk says no training or complex setup is required to start. Workflows can be written in plain language, and the system flags knowledge gaps and failing procedures so you can improve them. Plan time for connecting the backend systems the agent needs to take actions.
ASDK: you add one script to your site, ASDK indexes your pages up to your plan's page limit, and you switch agents on in the dashboard. Answers link to the pages they came from, so a wrong answer points straight at the page to fix. From Pro, the "What visitors ask" insights report groups visitors' questions, which shows where your content has gaps.
Choose Zendesk AI agents if…
- Your support team works in Zendesk, or you need a full helpdesk with ticketing.
- Customers contact you by email and phone as well as chat, and you want AI on all of them.
- Your AI must resolve account requests in your systems, with human agents one click away.
- You serve customers in many languages.
- You want to pay for verified outcomes rather than for answers.
- You want a product that is generally available today.
Choose ASDK if…
- Your website visitors are mostly prospects asking pre-sales questions, and you don't need a helpdesk for them.
- You want answers and lead qualificationLead qualification is deciding whether a potential buyer fits your offer and is ready to talk, so sales time goes to the leads most likely to become customers. from one knowledge base, with meetings booked in Cal.com, Calendly or Google Calendar. ASDK's Sales agent is in early access.
- You want a flat monthly plan with a published number of answers.
- You care how ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and other agents read your site.
- You want to start on a free plan or a trial without a card.
Some companies need both: Zendesk for existing customers' tickets and an assistant on the marketing site. ASDK lists no Zendesk integration, so in that setup the two would run side by side.
How to decide
Start with who is asking. If most conversations come from existing customers who need something done on their account, a helpdesk with AI agents such as Zendesk's is the right foundation. If most come from website visitors deciding whether to buy, test ASDK on your own pages.
In either case, take 20 real questions, run them through each tool on the same content, and score every answer as correct, correct with a source, wrong, or "I don't know". Then price your actual volume: verified resolutions on Zendesk, answers on ASDK.
Try the Chat agent in early access
Answers visitors from your own content, 24/7, and captures contacts.

How are Zendesk AI agents priced?
They are included in every Suite and Support plan, and usage is billed per automated resolution. As of October 21, 2026, plans include 5 or 10 resolutions per agent a month, and extra ones cost $1.50 committed or $2.00 pay as you go.
What counts as an automated resolution?
Since May 18, 2026, Zendesk sorts AI conversations into tiers. Assisted escalations and contained resolutions do not count against the allowance; verified resolutions, which a language model confirms after the conversation ends, do.
Do I need a Zendesk plan to use its AI agents?
Yes. The AI agents come with Zendesk Support and Suite plans, which are priced per human agent seat. ASDK is a standalone subscription for your website and does not require a helpdesk.
Is ASDK generally available?
Not yet. ASDK is in early access: the Chat, Sales and Agent-Ready agents are in early access, and Search, Forms and Voice are coming soon. Zendesk's AI agents are generally available.
