How it works with HubSpot

On this page

A lead that sits in a website chat transcript is a lead your team has to copy by hand. ASDK is meant to put each qualified lead straight into HubSpot, as a contact with the context a salesperson needs before the first call. The connection is built and is coming soon; this page explains what it does, why it is not switched on yet, and how to get leads into HubSpot today.

What ASDK and HubSpot do together

The Sales agent (early access, from the Pro plan) talks to visitors who show buying intent: asking about pricing, a demo or whether you are a fit. It answers their question first from your own pages, then asks the qualifying questions you wrote in plain language, one at a time, inside the conversation. Each lead gets a score from your rules. The glossary explains lead qualification in more depth.

When the HubSpot connection is live, each lead is meant to reach HubSpot like this:

  • A contact, created or updated by email address. A returning visitor updates the existing contact instead of creating a duplicate.
  • A note on the contact with the answers to your qualifying questions, the lead score and a short summary of the conversation, so whoever picks up the lead knows what was asked and answered.

Leads that Chat captures when it cannot answer a question are leads too; they carry the visitor's question, which is often the best opening line for a reply.

An example: from a pricing question to a HubSpot contact

Picture a company that sells fleet software. A visitor on its pricing page asks how pricing works for 40 vehicles. The Sales agent answers from the pricing page, then asks the two questions the company wrote: which tool the visitor uses today, and when they want to switch. The visitor says spreadsheets, and this quarter. That fits the company's rules, so the agent offers a meeting, and the visitor leaves a work email.

With the HubSpot connection, the visitor becomes a contact with that email, and a note on the contact holds the two answers, the score and a three-line summary of the conversation. The account executive opens HubSpot before the call and starts with the visitor's timeline instead of discovery questions the visitor already answered.

Until the connection is switched on, the same lead can reach HubSpot through a webhook and an automation tool, as described below.

Why it is coming soon

Connecting to a customer's HubSpot account requires an app that uses HubSpot's OAuth sign-in. According to HubSpot's authentication overview, an app installed in more than one HubSpot account must use OAuth, and only OAuth apps set up for marketplace distribution can be listed on the HubSpot Marketplace (checked October 2026).

The ASDK connection is built that way. It is waiting for approval of the ASDK app, and the connect button stays off until then. We will not ask you for a password or a private app token as a shortcut: OAuth lets you see exactly what the app can access and lets you disconnect it from HubSpot at any time.

Get leads into HubSpot today

You do not have to wait. ASDK can send each new lead to a webhook, which is available in early access from the Starter plan, and both Zapier and Make can turn that webhook into a HubSpot contact.

Create a webhook trigger

In Zapier, start a Zap with Webhooks by Zapier and the Catch Hook event. In Make, start a scenario with the Custom webhook module. Either gives you a URL.

Add it to ASDK

Add the URL as a webhook destination in ASDK. Then leave a test lead by chatting on your own site, so the automation tool receives a sample and learns the fields.

Add the HubSpot step

In Zapier, HubSpot's Create or Update Contact action matches existing contacts by email, according to Zapier's HubSpot integration page (checked October 2026). Make's HubSpot CRM app offers comparable modules. Map the visitor's email, name and company, and put the conversation fields into a note or a custom property.

Turn it on and test again

Switch the Zap or scenario on, start a chat on your own site, leave your details and check that the contact appears in HubSpot.

When the native connection ships, you can switch to it and turn the automation off, or keep both if the automation also does other work, such as posting to a team channel.

Before you connect: tidy your HubSpot side

A few decisions make the leads more useful once they arrive, whichever way you send them:

  • Decide who owns website leads. If HubSpot assigns owners by rules or round robin, check that leads from the website land with someone who follows up the same day. Our guide to speed to lead explains why the first hour matters.
  • Agree on a lifecycle stage. Leads the Sales agent scored as a good fit and leads Chat captured after an unanswered question are different. Use a property or a stage to tell them apart.
  • Keep the qualifying questions short. Two or three questions you actually use for routing beat seven that end up in a note nobody reads. See how to qualify inbound leads with AI.
  • Tell visitors what happens to their details. Your privacy notice should say that contact details from the chat go to your CRM. Our guide on what to tell visitors about AI chat has sample wording.

Frequently asked questions

Can I connect ASDK to HubSpot today?

Not directly yet. The HubSpot connection is built and waits for approval of the ASDK app before the connect button is switched on. Until then, a webhook through Zapier or Make can create HubSpot contacts from ASDK leads.

What will ASDK send to HubSpot?

For each lead, a contact created or updated by email address, plus a note with the answers to your qualifying questions, the lead score and a short summary of the conversation.

Will ASDK ask for my HubSpot password or a private app token?

No. The connection uses HubSpot's OAuth sign-in: you approve access in HubSpot, and you can disconnect the app there at any time.

Which ASDK plan includes CRM sync?

CRM sync is part of the Pro plan and above, together with the Sales agent that qualifies the leads it sends.
