How it works with Wix
On this page
Service businesses on Wix, such as consultancies, agencies and local firms, hear the same questions from visitors again and again: about prices, availability, areas served and how to get started. ASDK puts AI agents on a Wix site that answer those questions from your own pages, any time of day, and hand the visitor to your team when a person is needed.
What ASDK adds to a Wix site
ASDK builds one knowledge baseA knowledge base is the curated set of content an AI agent is allowed to answer from, such as web pages, help articles, PDFs and FAQs, kept indexed and current. from your published pages and any documents you upload. Every agent you switch on answers from it.
- Chat (early access, from the Free plan) answers visitors from your content, links the pages each answer came from, and offers to take contact details when it cannot help.
- Sales (early access, from the Pro plan) asks the qualifying questions you write in plain language and offers a meeting to visitors who fit.
- Agent-Ready (early access, from the Free plan) makes your site easier for AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude to read, for example with a hosted llms.txtllms.txt is a proposed Markdown file at a website's root that gives AI tools a short summary of the site and links to the pages that matter most. file.
- Search is coming soon. It will answer in place of a search box, with sources.
The widget is a single script. It adds a chat button in a corner of the page and changes nothing else in your Wix design.
An example from a Wix site
Picture a kitchen and bathroom renovation company with a Wix site: a page per service, a gallery, a page about the areas it covers and a contact form. On a Sunday evening, a visitor asks: "Do you work in the north of the city, and how long does a small kitchen remodel usually take?"
Chat finds the service-area page and the kitchen page, answers both parts briefly and links them. If the company has switched on Sales, the agent asks one of the company's own questions, for example the budget range or the planned start date, and offers a time for a call when the answers fit.
If the site does not mention timelines, the agent says it does not know and offers to pass the question on with the visitor's contact details, so the company can reply on Monday with a real answer. The visitor does not leave with a guess, and the team does not lose the lead.
What you need on Wix
Wix adds third-party code through its Custom Code setting, and two Wix rules decide whether it runs, according to Wix's guides to embedding custom code and assigning a domain (checked October 2026):
- Custom code runs only on a published site with a connected domain. Connecting a domain needs a Wix Premium or Studio plan.
- Custom code never runs in the Editor or in Preview. You see the widget only on the live site.
ASDK's own plans are separate: the Free plan includes Chat and Agent-Ready, and the pricing page lists the rest.
Set up ASDK on Wix
Create your site in ASDK
Add your website's address in the dashboard. ASDK reads your published pages and builds the knowledge base; the Install page then shows your snippet with your site ID.
Open Custom Code
In your Wix site's dashboard, go to Settings, then Custom Code under Development & integrations. Click + Add Custom Code and paste the snippet:
<script async src="https://cdn.asdk.com/v1/asdk.js" data-site-id="SITE_ID"></script>Choose where it runs
Under Add Code to Pages, choose All pages and Load code once; the widget follows page changes by itself. Under Place Code in, choose Body – end, name the snippet "ASDK" and click Apply.
Check
Open your published site on its domain, look for the chat button, then click Check installation on the dashboard. The Wix install guide has every step.
What is available and what is coming soon
| Item | Status |
|---|---|
| Install with Wix Custom Code | Available |
| An ASDK app in the Wix App Market | Not needed for setup |
| Chat, Sales and Agent-Ready agents | Early access |
| Search agent | Coming soon |
ASDK as a whole is in early access: the agents work and you can use them, but they may change while we improve them.
Wix details worth knowing
- Changing domains. If you later connect a different domain, Wix removes your custom code snippets. Add the snippet again and run the install check.
- Load once. "Load code once" is the right choice: the widget notices page changes on its own, and loading it on every page change would only cost requests.
- Consent banners. If your site's cookie banner holds back scripts until a visitor agrees, the widget loads after consent. It sets no cookies; it keeps a random visitor ID in the browser's local storage. See consent managers.
- Opening the chat from a button. If you want a "Chat with us" button in your design to open the widget, your site needs to call
asdk("open")from code. The HTML guide shows the call.
Getting better answers from a Wix site
Wix sites often keep important details in places an agent reads poorly. A few changes help:
- Put prices and service areas in text. Details shown only in images, galleries or embedded videos are hard to quote.
- Give each service its own page. One clear page per service answers better than one long page that covers everything.
- Add a real FAQ. The questions you answer by phone every week, with short and direct answers, are the passages an agent cites most easily.
- Remove what no longer applies. Old offers and discontinued services on public pages are still read and can still be quoted.
When the agent cannot answer, it says so and offers to take the visitor's contact details. Those unanswered questions show you which page to write next. Our guide to mining visitor questions for content ideas explains how to use them.
Try the Chat agent in early access

Frequently asked questions
Something else? Write to hello@asdk.com
Does ASDK work on a free Wix site?
Wix runs custom code only on a published site with a connected domain, and connecting a domain needs a Wix Premium or Studio plan. A free site on a Wix subdomain cannot run the ASDK snippet.
Why don't I see the chat button in the Wix Editor?
Wix never runs custom code in the Editor or in Preview. Publish the site and open it on your domain in a normal browser window.
Do I need an app from the Wix App Market?
No. ASDK is added through Wix's own Custom Code setting, which you find in your site's dashboard under Settings. There is nothing to install from the App Market.
What happens if I change my site's domain?
Wix removes custom code snippets when you connect a different domain. Add the ASDK snippet again and check the installation.
