AI agents for travel agencies

How travel agencies and tour operators can use AI agents to answer trip questions, collect trip requests and book planning calls without quoting stale prices.

Who it is forTravel agencies, independent travel advisors and tour operators, including those selling group and corporate travel, whose website brings in trip requests.

What visitors ask

Questions visitors bring to websites in this industry. An agent answers them from your own pages and cites them, and offers to take the visitor’s contact details when a person should answer.

  1. Can you plan a 10-day honeymoon in Italy for next June?
  2. How much is your Japan small-group tour, and what's included?
  3. Do you charge a planning fee?
  4. Is there still space on the March departure?
  5. Do I need a visa to visit Vietnam on a U.S. passport?
  6. My passport expires in four months. Can I still travel?
  7. Do you organize corporate retreats for 40 people?
  8. Can I pay a deposit now and the rest later?
  9. What's your cancellation policy?
  10. Do you recommend travel insurance?
  11. Is this tour suitable for someone who uses a wheelchair?

The guide

On this page

A travel agency's website is where trips start. A couple wants a honeymoon that is not a resort package; a family asks whether a tour suits children; a company wants a retreat for 40 people next spring. Most of the first questions are answerable from your own pages: destinations, sample itineraries, what a tour includes, how your fees work, your cancellation terms. An AI agent can handle them at any hour and pass a well-described trip request to the right advisor. Prices, availability and entry rules change too often to be promised in a chat, and the agent has to say so.

Who visits a travel agency's website

  • People planning a custom trip. Honeymoons, family holidays, milestone trips. They want to know whether you plan their kind of trip, how you work and what it costs to use you.
  • Tour shoppers. Dates, prices, what is included, group size, fitness level, single supplements.
  • Group and corporate planners. Retreats, incentive trips, school groups: capacity, timelines, contracts.
  • Booked travelers. Documents, payment schedules, changes. And, occasionally, travelers who need help right now, far from home.

Which ASDK agents fit a travel agency

ASDK is in early access. All agents answer from one knowledge base built from your website.

Chat: tours, fees and policies (early access)

Example flow: "How much is the Japan small-group tour in April, and what's included?" Chat answers from the tour page: the published price, what it covers (hotels, guides, rail passes, most meals) and what it does not (international flights), with a link and the date the price was set. Asked "is there still space?", it says availability is confirmed by an advisor and offers to send the request.

Many visitors also want to know how working with an agency works before they share any trip details: whether you charge a planning fee, whether it is credited against the booking, how many proposal revisions it covers, and what happens if they book elsewhere. Write that down on one page. It is the question most likely to decide whether a first-time visitor contacts you at all, and the agent can only answer it if the page exists.

Sales: trip requests that arrive ready to plan (early access)

Example flow: "Can you plan a 10-day honeymoon in Italy next June?" Sales asks what an advisor needs for a first call: travel dates or flexibility, departure city, number of travelers, trip style, budget range and the occasion. It books a planning call with your Italy specialist through Cal.com, Calendly or Google Calendar, and the summary goes to your team, and to your CRM through webhooks and Zapier or Make, so the advisor opens the call with ideas, not a questionnaire. Sales is included from the Pro plan.

Forms: group and corporate requests (coming soon)

When Forms ships, it will turn group and corporate requests into short structured conversations (group size, dates, rooming, budget, activities) so your team can prepare a proposal without three rounds of email.

Agent-Ready: readable for AI assistants (early access)

Agent-Ready hosts an llms.txt file that tells AI systems which destinations and trip styles you specialize in, how your fees work and how to request a trip.

Guardrails for travel agencies

Total prices, dated, confirmed by a person. In the U.S., the Department of Transportation treats a price stated for air transportation, or for a tour or tour component that must be bought with air transportation, as unfair and deceptive unless it is the entire price the customer pays (14 CFR 399.84). Instruct the agent to repeat only full published prices with what they include, never to add up components itself, and to say that the final price is confirmed when the trip is booked.

No holds, bookings or payments in chat. The agent can explain your deposit and payment schedule as published. Space is held and money taken only through your booking process.

Show your registration where it applies. California requires sellers of travel to register with the Attorney General and issues a registration number used in advertising (California Attorney General). Keep it in your site footer so the agent and AI assistants can quote it exactly. Other states have their own rules.

Entry rules: point to the official source. The State Department notes that some destinations require a passport valid at least six months beyond the trip and that some airlines will not board travelers who fall short (U.S. Department of State). The agent should give that kind of general reminder, link the government's travel pages for the destination and ask travelers to confirm. It never tells someone they can or cannot enter a country.

Formal terms stay formal. In the EU, the Package Travel Directive sets out information organizers must give travelers before a package contract. A chat answer is not a substitute; link your terms and pre-contract information instead.

Travelers in trouble get a phone number. Publish your emergency contact for travelers on the road, and have the agent show it first when a message sounds urgent.

Say it is AI. ASDK always tells visitors they are talking to an AI, and a handoff to an advisor is one step away. Accessibility and medical questions about a trip always go to a person.

How AI assistants research travel agencies

A traveler may ask an assistant for "a travel advisor who specializes in Japan and plans small-group trips in spring". The assistant can only match you on what your site states plainly; see how to write content AI assistants quote accurately. Make these explicit, as text:

  • Destinations and trip styles you specialize in, and the ones you do not handle.
  • Sample itineraries with prices, inclusions and dates.
  • How you are paid: planning fees, commissions, service fees.
  • Booking, payment and cancellation terms.
  • Registration numbers, memberships and languages spoken.

TravelAgency structured data can describe the agency and its offices. The free Agent Readiness Checker shows what AI agents read on your site today, and Agent-Ready keeps llms.txt current as departures change.

Where to start

Date every published price, put your terms and emergency contact on clear pages, then start Chat on your tour and destination pages. Add Sales once you see which trip requests come in. Pricing shows which plan includes each agent.

Frequently asked questions

Something else? Write to hello@asdk.com

Can an AI agent quote trip prices?

It can repeat prices you publish, with what they include and when they were set. Fares and availability change constantly, so the agent collects the request and an advisor confirms the price before anyone pays.

Can it answer visa and passport questions?

Only in general terms, with a link to the official source. Entry rules vary by destination and change, so the agent points travelers to government travel pages and asks them to confirm, rather than telling anyone they can enter.

Can the agent take bookings or deposits?

No. It collects trip details and books a planning call or a callback. Contracts, deposits and payments go through your booking process, where travelers see the full terms first.

Which ASDK agents are available now?

As of October 2026, Chat, Sales and Agent-Ready are in early access. Forms, for structured trip and group requests, is coming soon.
